Weekly News Wrap-up - “Survivable Royalty Rates”

Pandora has struck a deal for “survivable royalty rates”. The negotiations between Pandora and record labels has been going on for a couple of years and has finally reached a resolution. Pandora will receive a 40-50% reduction in royalty rates, but they will also have to fork over 25% of their revenue. This means Pandora will be putting some minor restrictions on their “free” service. (techcrunch.com)
