Weezer

band - Weezer
    Band:  Weezer
    Album:  The Red Album

The next release in the Weezer rainbow is on its way. Due out June 24, their third untitled album (The Red Album) may be one of their best, if the hilariously awesome album cover is any indication. But we won’t have to wait until June to hear it. The first single, “Pork and Beans” is out now, with a new video. Although the video is far from original, jumping on the YouTube trend, it still delivers. It stars many of the “performers” from some of the most viewed videos online. It’s a very fun video with an abundance of moustache (watch the video to see).

As for the single, it sounds as if Rivers is just singing about nothing and everything, yet it is still a good listen. It is a definite nod to Weezer past sounding like the missing link between The Blue Album and Pinkerton. Other songs due out on the album are the tracks “Everybody Get Dangerous” and “Automatic”. These songs may sound familiar as they have already been featured in the game Gran Turismo 5: Prologue and the movie 21.

With the album being produced by two great rock producers, Rick Rueben and Jacknife Lee, I don’t see how this album can go wrong. New music from Weezer is always something to look forward to, so to celebrate Weezer is my band of the week.
