Weekly News Wrap-up - Eye for an Eye

Its ridiculous to think, a woman who downloads music gets a huge fine, but someone who actually distributes copyrighted material gets next to nothing. The punishment needs to fit the crime and in the case of the Guns n’ Roses leaker, it doesn’t. At least not in comparison.

Weekly News Wrap-up - “Survivable Royalty Rates”

Pandora has struck a deal for “survivable royalty rates”. The negotiations between Pandora and record labels has been going on for a couple of years and has finally reached a resolution. Pandora will receive a 40-50% reduction in royalty rates, but they will also have to fork over 25% of their revenue.
